Dr. Deepankar Kumar Ashish is a Research Support Officer at the Faculty for the Built Environment, University of Malta. He possesses a distinguished background in research focused on Low-Carbon Cement-Based Systems, particularly in developing eco-friendly cement and concrete through the utilization of recycled by-products and waste materials. His work is rooted in circular economy principles, providing innovative and sustainable solutions to the construction industry’s environmental challenges.
As an esteemed member of several international scientific commissions, including the ACI, ASCE, and RILEM, Dr. Ashish is recognized as a prominent figure in the global scientific community. His prior academic roles include Researcher at the School of Engineering, Cardiff University, UK, and Postdoctoral Researcher at Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. With over a decade of experience, he has authored more than 50 high-impact publications, including more than 35 in prestigious Web of Science-indexed journals. Dr. Ashish has made significant contributions to the field through his editorial work. In 2024, Dr. Ashish was awarded the Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship by the European Commission. This prestigious fellowship supports his research on low-carbon cement-based materials at Cardiff University, focusing on sustainable and innovative solutions for the construction industry.
